About

I started Hartley Sounds because of a party in a pub.

My dad ran The Three Tuns in Bishop's Castle for fifty years. In 2021 he asked me to write something for the anniversary — not a speech, a song. Something the regulars could sing. I wrote it in an afternoon and played it on the night. People cried. People sang along. People who'd never met each other were suddenly in it together.

That's when I understood what a song can do for a place.

I've been writing brand anthems ever since — for family attractions, holiday parks, farm parks, restaurants, gastropubs, and visitor experiences across the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Every song is researched and written from scratch. No templates. No stock music. Just a song that sounds like your business and no one else's.

The process

How it works

01

I research you

Before I write a single word, I spend time understanding your business. Your story, your place, your customers, what makes you different. The more specific, the better the song.

02

I write your song

I write lyrics that name your place, your people, your personality. Then I produce a track that fits your brand — warm folk for a farm stay, anthemic rock for a theme park, smooth soul for a restaurant.

03

It's yours

You receive a high-quality MP3 and full licensing rights. Use it on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube — anywhere you post. Or upgrade to full unlimited licensing for ads, in-venue, and beyond.

What people say

From the people who've heard it

"I honestly wasn't sure what to expect — I thought it might sound a bit generic. It didn't. It sounded like us. We've used it on every reel we've posted since and the engagement has been noticeably different. People keep asking what the music is. Worth every penny."

January 2025

"Jess sent it completely out of the blue. I listened to it twice and then played it to my business partner. We bought it the same day. It's been on our Instagram intro ever since. Customers have mentioned it. Genuinely didn't expect that."

"The song captures something about our place that I've never been able to put into words. It's warm and a bit wild at the same time, which is exactly what we are. Our guests love it. We play it in the welcome video and it sets the tone perfectly."

March 2025

"I was a bit sceptical at first — we're a pretty down-to-earth place and I wasn't sure a song was for us. But Jess clearly did her homework. It's got the right energy. Kids love it. We use it on TikTok and it gets more saves than anything else we post."

October 2024

"We get a lot of content made about us but this felt different — it was made for us, not just about us. The detail in the lyrics was impressive. It felt like Jess had actually been here. We've had guests share it on their own channels which is something we never expected."

December 2024

"We've been trying to nail our brand identity for years and somehow Jess did it in three minutes of music. It's got the mountains, the quiet, the fire pits — all of it. Played it to the team and a couple of people got a bit emotional, which tells you everything."
